Joel Andersson
Starting Pitcher | Detroit Polar Bears

Pitching
Andersson performs extremely well in the late innings, but unfortunately his endurance prevents him from getting there very often. He struggles with his command at times and is still learning to mix his pitches and set up hitters. Andersson also has a decent changeup. The one thing I must say I don't like about Andersson is how easily rattled he gets. If he makes a mistake to a hitter and the guy winds up on second or third, you can pretty much count on the guy scoring. He attacks lefties and righties with similar success.

Defense & Hitting
With a decent slide step and his constant attention to the running game, Andersson limits the damage done by basestealers. He tends to fall off slightly to the first-base side of the mound, making him vulnerable to bunts toward third base. He makes up for that minor flaw by being aggressive in fielding his position. Andersson is a surpisingly good hitting pitcher. And I'm not sure you can say this about a pitcher, but Andersson has some pop in his swing. Interesting sidenote, The Detroit Polar Bears have been known to use Andersson as a pinch-runner on occasion.
