Ira Anderson
Starting Pitcher | Retired or Inactive Players

Pitching
His fastball gets into the high 80s, but it's the sink that makes the pitch effective. Anderson also throws a screwball. The Retired or Inactive Players hope he can work on his control a little bit. Every once and a while one slips away from him and either ends up at the backstop or in the right field bleachers. He tends to work slowly when in a jam, which just makes his problems worse by lulling his fielders to sleep. No one questions this kid's heart. They do question why he just can't get it done late in the game. But Anderson, do us a favor. Stop throwing that changeup. It looks like a beachball. The running movement on his pitches makes life tougher on lefties than righties.

Defense & Hitting
He's average in terms of controlling the running game. Anderson is agile on the mound, though he makes needless errors when his concentration wanders. Anderson is a surpisingly good hitting pitcher. And I'm not sure you can say this about a pitcher, but Anderson has some pop in his swing. Interesting sidenote, The Retired or Inactive Players have been known to use Anderson as a pinch-runner on occasion.
