Jarell Andaya
Starting Pitcher | Paris Isotopes
Pitching He's a good late inning man, which is when being a pitcher really counts. Andaya also has a decent changeup. The Paris Isotopes hope he can work on his control a little bit. Every once and a while one slips away from him and either ends up at the backstop or in the right field bleachers. He can hit 90 MPH but is too smart to try to get his fastball past most hitters. He's almost as effective against lefthanders as he is versus righthanders. It's hard to explain but Jarell Andaya plays much better on the road then he does at home.
Defense & Hitting His pickoff move is only fair. He isn't especially quick off the mound but generally fields his position adequately. Andaya is a surpisingly good hitting pitcher. And I'm not sure you can say this about a pitcher, but Andaya has some pop in his swing. Interesting sidenote, The Paris Isotopes have been known to use Andaya as a pinch-runner on occasion.
2014 Outlook If Andaya doesn't perform, the Paris Isotopes won't hesitate to send him down to the minors. I just don't know if The Paris Isotopes are ever going to get what they expect out of him.
