Hitting
In past seasons, Alou has been a bit of a liability with men on base. This guy can't hit a watermelon with a lampost. He hits righthanders and lefthanders with equal consistency.

Baserunning & Defense
Alou isn't a fluid catcher, but he's not afraid to get dirty and gets the job done. He's also one of the better throwing catchers in the league. Alou is an intelligent baserunner with average speed, but he's not a basestealing threat.

2014 Outlook
If Alou doesn't perform, the Retired or Inactive Players won't hesitate to send him down to the minors.
