Barton Abercrombie
Third Baseman | Retired or Inactive Players
Hitting The book on Abercrombie is that you can knock the bat out of his hands with an average major league fastball. With his slap-hitting approach, Abercrombie always hits like he already has two strikes. The results are usually groundballs or line drives to the opposite field. He hangs in well against lefthanders' breaking balls, and some of the pitchers he hits best are the southpaw specialists often brought in to face him. You can expect Barton Abercrombie to hit the ball to the opposite field... that's just the kind of hitter he is.
Baserunning & Defense He doesn't get good jumps on grounders, but his routes are fine and his hands aren't bad. His arm is accurate enough. His speed is below average and he's not a threat to steal.
